a. The context of suffering in the ministry
b. The superiority of the resurrection body
c. The groaning associated with this present body
d. The preference for being with Christ
e. The assurance of future glory
1) God's purpose -- it cannot be defeated
2) God's pledge -- the indwelling Holy Spirit
2. Two Results of This Longing for Future Glory (:6-10)
a. Future Glory inspires Courage (:6-8)
1) Because we prefer our eternal home
2) Because we walk by faith not by sight
b. Future Glory inspires Commitment (:9-10)
1) single-minded ambition
