Summary: A true Pastor will love God's people

Scripture:

Jeremiah 3:15

And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding. (NLT)

Can you celebrate your Pastor?

1. Called by God. 2nd Timothy 1:8-8 says, “Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; who saved us, and called us with a an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began.”

2. Chosen by God. John 15:16 says, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name; he may give it you.

3. Sent by God. Romans 10:13-15 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach except they be sent? As it is written , How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things.”

What should we expect from a Pastor?

… patient with people.

… kind and gentle with people.

A man who is humble, unselfish, and Christ centered!

A man who loves praising and worshipping God

…understands that to be great…he must be a servant!

A man who loves working with the youth as well as the senior citizens.

A man who loves ministering to singles, as well as the married couples.

A man who ministers to those in prisons as well as those in the hospitals.

A man who believes in doing the right thing not sometimes...but every time!

A man who will stand up for righteousness, and speak out against sin.

The heart of God:

Acts 13:22 But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’

Attributes of Gods heart:

Love:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! (NLT)

Luke 6:35 35 “Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.(NLT)

Agape Love: selfless love..Looks past the faults and sees the need.

Heart of God is Faithful:

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.(KJV)
