Psalm 37:1-7 The “Four F’s”

1. Fret Not - 1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers,

neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

Fret means to worry to be concerned….

i. Trust is ALLIANCE - Prov 3:5 Trust in the LORD

ii. Trust is RELIANCE - with all thine heart

iii. Trust is DEFIANCE - and lean not unto thine own understanding

iv. Trust is COMPLIANCE - 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him,

v. Trust is GUIDANCE - 6 and he shall direct thy paths.

vi. Trust is APPLIANCE - 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;

so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

2. Fear Not - 4 Delight thyself also in the Lord;

and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

i. Our Delights - 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD

ii. Our Dividends - and he shall give thee

iii. Our Desires - the desires of thine heart

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth,

give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Psalm 56:3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid

3. Faint Not - 5 Commit thy way unto the Lord;

trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

i. The Subject For Commitment - 5 Commit thy way

Psalm 121:8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

ii. The Source For Commitment - unto the LORD

iii. The Serenity In Commitment - trust also in him;

"commit" means "to roll onto". "What a friend we have in Jesus"

1 Pet. 5:7; Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

iv. The Security In Commitment - and he shall bring it to pass.

v. The Surety Of Commitment - 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

4. Fail Not - 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him:

fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,

because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Our Rest - Rest in the LORD

Our Restraint - and wait patiently for him

Our Resolve - fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way
