The Folly Of Idolatry

Psalms 115:3-11

Beloved, how do you worship what you have made? Should it not be worshiping you?

How is it that you worship what another person has made? How is it that you worship things you see or have seen being made? Is this not the height of foolishness?

Beloved, how can you degrade yourself and worship a fellow human being who was born, will go through life’s motions and die?

How can you worship an animal or a tree or other things found in nature? What is wrong with you? There is only ONE Who is worthy to be worshiped. HE is not made by any and is not controlled by any. HE rules and reigns over the affairs of men. HE is The KING of Kings and LORD of lords. You know this but you insist on delusions and lies.

Everything tells HIS story. HE has given you a life and many freedoms. This has puffed you up to make you think and imagine that you are HIS equal. You are not. Wake up from your stupor.

Beloved, Exodus 20:1-6 is clear.

And God spake all these words, saying,

2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

There is only one GOD who should be worshiped. Repent and turn away from worshiping yourself, others, nature, money, goods, wealth, idols, pictures, paintings, structures, icons and all the like. There is a day called judgment day and it promises not to be a pleasant day for GOD haters.
