Summary: THE FLESH IS THE FIRST HOUSE HOLD ENEMY THAT YOU MUST DAILY OVERCOME
THE FLESH KILLS
MAIN TEXT: ROMANS 8:13 “For if you live after the flesh, you shall die but if you through the spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live”.
GALATIANS 6:8 “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting”.
At creation, God created a supernatural man who had his spirit (Gen. 2:7), His kind of creative ability in naming things (Gen. 2:19-20) and also had dominion over every living thing (Gen. 1:26). Man was just like God, he was supernatural, he was good as God declared him, but sin led to the fall of man. Man declared independence from God and was detached from the SUPER/GOD part of him. This made the SUPER/GOD part of man to be removed and man was reduced to the ordinary. Man became merely natural. The fall gave rise to a natural man who now became more aware of himself as he saw his nakedness Gen 3:7. The fall gave rise to a man who misunderstood God, became afraid of God; saw God as his enemy even as he ran away from God to hide himself Gen. 3:8-10. The fall also gave rise to a man who began to do the things he felt were good in his sight as he made fig trees to cover himself because he felt he should be covered instead of staying naked the way God made him Gen. 3:7.
Ever since, man at Eden (Adam) and the generations after him have lived and died as mere/natural men. Man no longer understand God’s ways nor keep His instructions. Ever since, man has continued to live in the flesh and by the flesh doing the things that pleases him therefore giving birth to cultures and traditions born of the flesh without consulting God. This way of life and living in the flesh, God has already declared the way of death.
The goodnews of salvation is that Christ died to save us from this path of the flesh, the path of doing things our way without God, the path of doing things which are pleasing in our sight but whose end is destruction. Proverbs 14:12 Christ came to bring back the SUPER/GOD part of man that we henceforth no longer live as mere/natural men without God, but that we now walk in the spirit, in life, in dominion and in authority; that we begin to live once again as SUPERNATURAL MEN.
Make a decision today that your thought, words, actions and entire lifestyle will be directed by God through His spirit.
THE FLESH KILLS BUT THE SPIRIT GIVES LIFE
