Luke 13:1-9 The Fig Tree reminds me of Me and the Fig Tree Reminds Me of God
1. WE are likened to the Fig Tree we are Planted

A. The Fig Tree was Planted
B.3we are like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
C. Planted with Streams of gifts,
D. Planted with Streams of talents
E. Planted with Streams of skills,
F. Planted with Streams of ideas, creativity, favor.
3. WE are Likened to the Fig Tree we are Positioned
A. The Fig Tree was Planted in a certain Place
B. We are positioned to Nurture
C. We are positioned to cultivate a life
D. We are positioned to encourage a life
E. We are positioned to develop a life
4. We are likened to the Fig Tree we are supposed to Produce Fruit
A. The Man after being Planted looked for Fruit
B. We are to be Highly productive. Jesus said, "This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit —fruit that will last
C. God desires us to Produce these fruits love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control.
The Fig Tree also Reminds Me of God
1. God is Patient or God is long Suffering
A. God waited Patiently for the Fig Tree to produce Fruit
B. God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. . .” (1 Peter 3:20)
C. . Bible says, ‘The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression
D. Nahum says The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear the guilty
.
2. God is Patient but God's Patience will run out
A. Genesis 6:3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”
B. Jeremiah 44:22 The LORD could no longer bear your evil deeds and the abominations that you committed. Therefore your land has become a desolation and a waste and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.
C. Matthew 25:41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels…” (Jesus speaking) .
. D. Romans 2:3-4 Do you suppose, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
. E. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. .
3. We have been planted, Positioned to Produce and depending on God's Patients .
