12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
I. A MISUNDERSTOOD PRINCIPLE
God is The Creator of All, The Saviour of All, But not the Father of All :- Eph 2:3 were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.
We are not children of God :-
A. By physical birth - Nicodemus - Born Again
B. By purity of character - All Have Sinned
C. By praying every day - Not By Works
II. AN UNMISTAKABLE PRIVILEGE
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
A. It is a supernatural birth
B. a spiritual birth -
C. a special birth - Is your name written there?
III. AN IMMEASURABLE PLEASURE
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,that we should be called the sons of God:
A. The privilege of His Parentage - His name
B. The privilege of His Peace
C. The privilege of His Provision - Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want
IV. A MANDATORY PREFERENCE
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
