Reflection
Dear sisters and brothers,
Being faithful is the theme of the scripture text.
Being faithful does not mean being a slave.
Being faithful is knowing the Master.
How do we know the Master?
Learning people or knowing people is a skill.
It comes to us automatically through our experience with them.
At times, it comes through by hearing.
We may know them by reading too.
There are many ways to get the information that we want.
Sometimes, we study them by observation.
Is there a particular way to learn people?
We can categorically say that there is no one way to learn people.
Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
Fear does not mean we are afraid of someone.
I study for my exams well when I have some kind of fear.
It makes you engage with reality.
Fear of a master does not mean that we are his or her slaves.
Fear makes us faithful in our service.
Being faithful is the beginning of trust.
Trust brings confidence.
Confidence is shown in and through faithfulness.
There is no fear in faithfulness.
Faithfulness chases away fear, but it also forms an obedient person.
Faithfulness with obedience to the Master is the key.
The obedient and faithful servant builds trust.
And he has been given more responsibilities in turn.
That is the reason Jesus says: "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."
Jesus is our Master.
He has entrusted his kingdom to us.
"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom."
Are we faithful and obedient to Jesus Christ, our Master?
We have the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, to help us to discern and choose the right things.
Did we do the right things in our lives?
Do we do the right things in our lives hereafter?
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
May the heart of Jesus live in the hearts of all. Amen.
