What Is "The Faith"

Acts 6:7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith. NKJV

1. The Faith Is A . . Delivered Faith. V 3 a

3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation,

I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which

was once for all delivered to the saints. NKJV

1. Once Delivered. 1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life-- NKJV

a. No Additions Necessary.

b. No Subtractions Necessary.

2. Not Discovered but Delivered. 2 Peter 1:20-21

20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,

21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were

moved by the Holy Spirit.

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for

reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, NKJV

3. Once for all Delivered.

". . . for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

a. Good for everybody.

Not "A Faith" but "Thee Faith."

2. The Faith Is A . . Saving Faith.

3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation,

I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith

which was once for all delivered to the saints. NKJV

A. What Is Common about it.

1. Who So Ever Can Be Saved.

2. The Extremes.

Educated - Uneducated.

Rich - Poor, ETC..

1 Cor 1:26 26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. NKJV

It says not Many it does not say Not Any.

Application

If it doesn’t get people saved it is not The Faith.

3. It Is The Saint Faith

3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation,

I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith

which was once for all delivered to the saints. NKJV

Note these verses Not For Priest, Rabbis, or Ministers Alone but for The Saints.

These verses speak of many doctrines of the Christ Faith "THE FAITH"

v 4 The Grace of God.

v 4 The Deity of Jesus

v 6 Angels and Judgement

v 7 Hell and Eternal Fire. Matt 5:29-30

v 9 A personal Devil-- An All Powerful God

v 10-13 Depravity of Mankind.

v 14 Historicity of Adam Etc..

v 14-15 The Return of the Lord.

v 16 The Fickleness of Man

v 17 The Authority of Scripture

v 18 There will be some last days.

v 19-21 Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

v 19 Indwelling of God’s Spirit

v 20 Spiritual Praying

v 21 The Perseverence of the Saints

v 22-23 Witnessing Faith

v 24 Substitutionary Righteousness

v 25 The Sovereignty of God.
