The Essence Of Unity

A) Luke 22:31

31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

A) If there is one thing that satan tries to always do it is to try to neutralize those who stand for revival, holiness and unity. It is just like a car that is going down the highway and satan throws the car from drive into neutral so no matter how hard you put your foot on that gas peddle, you will eventually come to a stop.

B) How Does Satan Do This?

1) Satan does this by trying to isolate you and deceiving you into believing that you are all alone. I call it the Elijah syndrome. 1Kings 19:14-18. Elijah was scared and he felt isolated and all alone and was afraid of how jezebel threatened his life.

2) So just like Elijah we are some times tempted to retreat into a cave or enter into spiritual depression and become prophets with no hope and it’s all because someone said something about you or you think this and you think that. But just like he told Elijah, we need to get up and stop pouting around and we need to stop letting satan cause disunity amongst each other and forgive and love one another and worship and serve the Lord in one mind and in one accord.

2 Tim 3:14

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

3) If the Lord says to forgive we need to forgive. If the Lord says to continue in love and unity then we best do it. The Lord knows what He is doing and has everything under control.

-Does Unity Brings Results –

Acts 2:1-4

A) There is power in unity.

1) We as children of God need to set aside all differences and opinions that we might have towards one another and we need to bind together in love and in unity and we need to call out the name of Jesus. If we unite together in one mind and in one accord we will see revival like never before.

Phil 2:1-3

1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

2 Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
