Summary: The statue of liberty is a beacon of hope to some people, but the cross is the statue of Hope to all people.
The Emblem of Hope Romans 5:8
1. How did we get the Statue of Liberty? It Is the emblem of Hope to people
• The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to the United States, intended as a symbol
• of the enduring friendship between the two nations, particularly during the American Revolution.
2. The following words from Emma Lazarus’s famous 1883 sonnet can be found at the plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty.
• Give me your tired, your poor, Give me Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
• The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
• I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
3. There is another gift given to the US and to the world it’s the Cross
• The Statue of Liberty says “give me your tired” the Cross says “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
• Are you tired of a restless life Jesus says come unto me and I will give you a life of abundance
• Statue of Liberty says give me your poor. The cross Jesus called for compassion and action towards those in need. He encouraged people to give to the poor and invite them to feasts.
• Statue of Liberty says give me Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the cross Says Christ has set us free we were once condemned by sin but Christ set us free.

• Masses yearning to breathe free are people who have been rejected or unwanted by their home countries, often due to poverty, persecution, or other hardships.
• Jesus to cry’s out “come unto me you who feel rejected or unwanted.
• Jesus accepts whosoever he was The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone (Psalm 118:22), signifying that Jesus, though rejected, is the foundation of the Christian faith.
5. The Statue of Liberty says give me The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
• The wretched refuse refer to people unwanted by other countries, reflecting the idea of America as a refuge for the downtrodden.
• The Cross of Christ says Jesus welcomes the scum of the earth 1Cor4:13“We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world—right up to this moment.
• This verse suggests that followers of Christ are often treated poorly and may be seen as the "scum of the earth" by the world, but they are still loved and valued by God.
6. The Statue of Liberty says Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
• The cross says to the homeless Let not your heart be troubled if you believe in God believe also in me in my Fathers house are many mansions
• The Statue of Liberty says I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
• Lamp": Represents the torch held by the Statue of Liberty, which symbolizes enlightenment, hope, and guidance.
• "Golden door” Refers to the entry point into the United States, a place of opportunity, freedom, and a new beginning

• The cross says give me the ones who can’t breathe I will give you breath
• The cross says give me your weary ones there you will find rest for your soul
• The cross says give me those who are unwanted poor widowed, the leapers, the prostitutes ,
• The cross says give me the hopeless ones I will give them eternal hope of better days
• The Cross says, like the statues golden door gives us an open opportunity Revelation says, “. 8I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.
• The Cross is a beacon of Hope “Christ died for us” The Emblem of Hope
