Summary: The Divine Call

Psalm 98 The Divine Call

1. To Song -

It's Trust - 1 O sing unto the Lord a new song;

Jericho - Joshua 6:16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the Lord hath given you the city.

It's Truth - for he hath done marvellous things:

It's Triumph - his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

Isaiah 59:16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness,

it sustained him.

2. To Salvation -

It's Revelation - 2 The Lord hath made known his salvation:

It's Righteousness - his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.

It's Redemption - 3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel:

It's Reach - all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God

3. To Celebration -

The Sound - 4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord,

The Scene - all the earth:

The Satisfaction - make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

The Song - 5 Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.

The Sign - 6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord,

the King.

The Sight - 7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein

The Salute - 8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

4. To Sanctification -

The Divine Person - 9 before the Lord;

The Divine Presence - for he cometh

The Divine Purpose - for he cometh to judge the earth:

The Divine Prudence - with righteousness shall he judge -

2 Tim 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 preach the word be instant in season, out of season reprove rebuke exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

He will judge Fairly - with righteousness

He will judge Finally - shall he judge

He will judge Fully - the world,

He will judge Faithfully - and the people with equity.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
