Sermons

Summary: In this sermon, we'll explore the biblical reasons why we should refrain from speaking ill of godly women, the differences between worldly and godly women, and the consequences of speaking ill of them.

As believers, we are called to uphold the highest standards of integrity, love, and respect, especially towards our sisters in Christ. Unfortunately, it's not uncommon to witness or experience hurtful words and accusations directed towards godly women. In this sermon, we'll explore the biblical reasons why we should refrain from speaking ill of godly women, the differences between worldly and godly women, and the consequences of speaking ill of them.

Reasons Not to Speak Ill of Godly Women

1. God's Command to Love and Respect: In Ephesians 4:29-32, we're instructed to speak words that edify and build others up, rather than tearing them down. Godly women are our sisters in Christ, and we're called to love and respect them.

2. Godly Women are Vessels of Honor: In 2 Timothy 2:20-21, Paul describes godly women as "vessels of honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work." Speaking ill of them dishonors God and undermines their ministry.

3. God Defends Godly Women: Psalm 37:23-24 assures us that God defends and protects the righteous, including godly women. When we speak ill of them, we're essentially opposing God Himself.

Differences Between Worldly and Godly Women

1. Motivations: Worldly women are often driven by self-interest, pride, and a desire for power. Godly women, on the other hand, are motivated by a desire to serve God and others.

2. Behavior: Worldly women may engage in gossip, slander, and other destructive behaviors. Godly women, by contrast, strive to live according to biblical principles, demonstrating love, kindness, and humility.

3. Priorities: Worldly women often prioritize material possessions, status, and temporal success. Godly women, however, prioritize their relationship with God, their families, and their spiritual growth.

God's Judgment on Those Who Speak Ill of Godly Women

1. Condemnation: In James 4:11-12, we're warned that speaking evil of others, including godly women, can lead to condemnation.

2. Destruction: Proverbs 10:18 cautions that those who speak ill of others will be destroyed.

3. Loss of Reward: In 1 Corinthians 3:12-15, Paul warns that our words and actions will be judged, and those who speak ill of godly women may lose their reward.

Accusing, Blame-Shifting, and Slandering Godly Women is Not Christian

1. Satan's Tactics: Accusing, blame-shifting, and slandering are tactics employed by Satan to destroy God's people (Revelation 12:10).

2. Unchristian Behavior: Speaking ill of godly women is unbecoming of a Christian and can damage our witness and credibility.

3. Harming the Body of Christ: When we speak ill of godly women, we harm the body of Christ, causing division and strife (1 Corinthians 12:22-23).

Speaking ill of godly women is a serious offense that can have far-reaching consequences. As believers, we're called to uphold the highest standards of love, respect, and integrity, especially towards our sisters in Christ. Let us strive to build each other up, rather than tearing each other down, and remember that God defends and protects His godly women.
