This sermon explores the lessons of faith, trust, and surrender we can learn from Jesus' moment of divine desertion on the cross.
Good morning, beloved. I am so glad to see each one of you here today. There is something uniquely beautiful about the gathering of God's people in unity and love, and it's a privilege to be part of this congregation. We are here, not by accident, but by divine appointment. You see, God has a message for each one of us today, and it's a message that pierces through the noise of our busy lives to speak directly to our hearts.
Today, we turn our attention towards an incredibly potent moment in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It's a moment that reveals the depth of His love for us, and the extent He was willing to go to ensure our salvation. We find this moment in the book of Matthew, chapter 27, verse 46. It reads, 'About the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, 'Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?' which means, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?'

It's a moment that leaves us breathless, a moment that brings us face to face with the reality of divine desertion. But it's also a moment that teaches us profound lessons about faith, trust, and surrender.
As the revered preacher Charles Spurgeon once said, 'I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages.' In the midst of His suffering, Jesus was thrown against the Rock of Ages, experiencing a depth of desolation we can hardly fathom. Yet, in that moment, He demonstrated a faith that remained unshaken, a trust that remained steadfast, and a surrender that was complete.
As we continue to reflect on this pivotal moment in the life of our Savior, we are drawn to the profound spiritual separation Jesus experienced from His Father ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
