The Criminal's Acknowledgements - Luke 23: 39-43

The Criminal's Acknowledgements

Luke 23:39 One of the criminals hanging there began to shout insults at Jesus: "Aren't you the Messiah? Then save yourself, and save us too!"

Luke 23:40 But the other criminal stopped him. He said, "You should fear God. All of us will die soon.

Luke 23:41 You and I are guilty. We deserve to die because we did wrong. But this man has done nothing wrong."

Luke 23:42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you begin ruling as king!"

Luke 23:43 Then Jesus said to him, "I promise you, today you will be with me in paradise."

What made this criminal so special that he's the main character here in this passage: Luke 23: 39-43

Criminal's Acknowledgement #1:

Christ's Deity.

Luke 23:40:

But the other answered, and rebuking him said, 'Don't you even fear God, seeing you are in the same condemnation?

Christ's Humanity.

Luke 23:41:

And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong.'

Luke 23:41:

Christ's Lordship.

Luke 23:42:

He said to Jesus, 'Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom.'

Criminal's Acknowledgement #5:

Christ's Kingship

Luke 23:42:

He said to Jesus, 'Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom.'

Criminal's Acknowledgement #6:

Christ's Redeeming Qualities

Luke 23:42:

He said to Jesus, 'Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom.'

Majority or all of us got the traits of the criminal on the cross, remember we're all sinners and are born in sin. Let us become like the criminal in his bravery to admit he has sinned, and acknowledge that only the Lord Jesus Christ can bring us into paradise and save our souls from hell. Yes, our repentance will follow, mankind will continue to punish us for our sins, as consequences but in God's eyes we are forgiven, the Lord Jesus Christ will give us a tour of paradise with Him on our sides. Don't let it become too late for all of us, accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your own Lord, Master and Savior and get into paradise.

Romans 3:23 All have sinned and are not good enough to share God's divine greatness. (ERV)

Romans 6:23 When people sin, they earn what sin pays--death. But God gives his people a free gift--eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (ERV)

This was a nice layout of scriptures. I was hoping to READ a sermon...not illustrations of verses. Thank you though for your detail.
