Summary: The five distinct areas that define the Completed Work of Christ.

THE COMPLETED WORK OF CHRIST

“I have glorified You on the earth by completing the work You gave Me to do.”

John 17:4 (HCSB)

I. HE SEEKS AND SAVES US!

"For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." Luke 19:10 (NKJV)

Then Jesus told them this parable: "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.” Luke 15:3-6a (NIV)

"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12

II. HE SECURES US!

"And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:28

“Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:12-13

“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” 2 Corinthians 1:21-22

III. HE SANCTIFIES US!

“By whose will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all.” Hebrews 10:10 (Greek trans.)

Sanctify means “set apart”. It appears in the Bible in three aspects: 1. Positional: received at the moment of salvation by the grace of God.

2. Experiential: the moment-by-moment seeking His will in our life.

3. Ultimate: at the resurrection or translation of our mortal bodies.

IV. HE SUPPLIES US!

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
