Summary: The wonderful benefit of serving a God who is for us!

"THE COAST IS CLEAR!"

Psalm 3:1 O LORD, how my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me.

THERE IS MUCH FRAY!

The people of God often feel the pressures of life, the enemy and even the war within our own soul. There’s no doubt about the increase of struggles for the child of God. Jesus plainly told us "this world will deal us troubles!"

2 Many are saying of my soul, "There is no deliverance for him in God." Selah.

SOME SAY, NO WAY!

Often we are assaulted with thoughts that contradict the Word of God! Remember Satan said, "Yea, hath God said???

3 But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.

HE WILL SAVE THE DAY!

Imagine how humiliating and discouraging a time it

was for David when his own son Absalom was out to take the Kingdom away from him. He knew the Lord as a restorer of the broken!

4 I was crying to the LORD with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.

I WILL EARNESTLY PRAY!

It’s a good thing that David was living by Psalm 15,

so that he could be heard on high in his time of trouble!

5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustains me.

THE COAST IS CLEAR!

Peace exceeding understanding must have filled his mind after he prayed! Otherwise, he could have never closed his eyes!

6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about.

I WILL NOT FEAR!

Wow, prayer produces some incredible faith and security. Through prayer he must have caught a glimpse of his invisible, invincible and intervening Friend: Almighty God!

7 Arise,O LORD; save me, O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.

BECAUSE HE IS NEAR!

David also said in Psalm 73:28 It is good for me to draw near to God.. James told us that if we draw near to God - He will draw near to us! What an awesome

benefit! David reinforces the truth that is better for a man to see how close he can live

to God, instead of how close a man can live to the world and still be saved! (SELAH! added)

8 Salvation belongs to the LORD; Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah.

HE’S BROUGHT GOOD CHEER!

People of God - WE HAVE A HAPPY ENDING!

A wise man said "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in

spirit is better than the proud in spirit." Eccl. 7:8 You that love the Lord rejoice! Knowing this that the trying of your faith works patience. Through patient faith we wear the Devil out! Why not just close the door and do a little victory dance!?
