In our world today, a different viewpoint is being formed as to the Christians relationship to the world and the world system. It's not based on what the Bible teaches, but it's based on the opinions and ideas of man. And most of them not even saved, and if they are, have very little if any Bible knowledge of this thought. The Bible is still the word of God, which is suitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16. I want to share three thoughts relating to the Christian and the world.

I. The Christian is Saved Out of the World

1. Christians are given to Christ out of the world, John 17:6.

a. Set apart for God. Consigned to Christ. To be used as vessels of honor.

b. We are now in the hand of God as clay in the hands of the Potter.

2. Delivered from the world, Galatians 1:4

a. Delivered from the power of sin.

b. Romans 6:11-18

3. Delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of his dear son, Colossians 1:13.

4. We are a new creature. All things have passed away and all things become new, 2 Corinthians 5:17.

a. Regeneration creates a new world, in the soul.

b. The renewed man acts from new principles, by new rules, with new ends and in new company.

II. The Christian Separation from the World

1. We are not of this world, John 17:14

a. The Christian should not accept to receive any better treatment from the world than did Jesus.

b. It costs something to be a Christian and many today do not want to pay the costs.

c. If we are going to have power with God, we cannot be like the world.

2. Strangers and pilgrims in the world, 1 Peter 2:11.

3. No friendship with the world, James 4:4.

a. Strange thing about the Bible, the word of God, he says what he means and means what he says.

b. Here, God calls worldly people adulterers. He is speaking about spiritual adultery. They are giving their best affections to the world and not to God.

c. God says worldly mindedness is an enmity to God.

4. Kept unspotted from the world, James 1:27.

a. The best way is to let everything we do to be done in the presence of God.

b. To seek his favor, please him in all our actions.

5. Crucified to the world, Galatians 6:14.

a. Paul glorified in the cross. Every man glory in something.

b. How come we glory in the cross? There must be a twofold crucifixion.

1) To be dead to the world.

2) The world is to be dead to me.

III. The Christians Behavior in the World

1. Living godly in this present world, Titus 2:12.

2. Not conformed to this world, Romans 12:2

a. These verses demand a presentation of yourself.

b. We are to be a living sacrifice to God.

3. Love not the world, 1 John 2:16.

a. Love not this world system. This world system is not of God.

b. Demas forsook Paul having loved this present world, 2 Timothy 4:10.

c. What kind of a Bible are we? 2 Corinthians 3:2-3
