Focus Passage: Hebrews 13:1-6

I. Christian Relations

a. Charity

i. Some we love easily

ii. Others we have to love intentionally

b. Hospitality

i. Travel in first century not the same as today

ii. Intentionally seek those whom we can show extravagant love by inviting them into our homes

c. Empathy

i. Prison in 1st century was for Christians and they could be expected to go at any time.

ii. Today, mostly for criminals, but what about Christian prisoners in hostile countries?

II. Christian Marriage

a. Elevate it - Honor Marriage above all

b. Celebrate it – Save it for your spouse

c. Contemplate it – There are penalties in this world and the next

III. Christian Character

a. Coveting: wrong love. Great connections between coveting, greed, and immorality.

b. Contentment: right disposition

Invitation: Living like a Christian effects all areas of life: relationships, marriage, character. What is the Lord doing in these areas of your life? Are there changes by God's grace that need to take place? It is time to demonstrate in reality what Christ has done inwardly in your life. Let us live like Christians, publicly and privately.
