THE MESSAGE
THE CHRISTIAN LIFE: A RELATIONSHIP OF LOVE
1.ENDURANCE
Romans 8 : 35 - 39
The Christian Life is a relationship of love between God and His people. This relationship should be strong enough to endure any trials and difficulties. Apostle Paul was sure that nothing could seperate
Him from the love of christ. We must realise that the love between us and christ should not be affected by any circumstances.
2.EXPERIENCES
I Corinthians 4: 9 - 13 I Corinthians 13
The apostle Paul had many painful experiences in his walk with God. But because of his deep love for God he did not allow these experiences to affect his life and ministry.Love helps us to bear all things. If
we do not love God wholeheartedly it would be very difficult to face trials and persecutions for His sake.
3.EXAMINATION
I Corinthians 10 : 13
In our relationship of love with God we have the assurance that He will not allow us to tempted beyond our ability to bear. But He will make a way of escape for us. Examinations always increase in difficulty
as we progress higher. In the same way as we grow stronger and stronger in our spiritual life we can expect greater tests and trials. But our trials will never be beyond our ability to bear. But the God of love will also make a way of escape for us.
4.ENERGY
Isaiah 40:29-31
In our relationship of love with God sometimes we may grow weary and discouraged. At such times the love of God will encourage us and give us fresh energy and strength to go on. God will not abandon us when we
get weak and tired. He revived Elijah when he was discouraged and wanted to die.He restored Peter who went back to fishing in discouragement. When we wait on Him we will receive new strength to rise up like eagles and go on in our walk with God.
5.ESTABLISHMENT
Hebrews 12: 5-6
In our relationship of Love with God sometimes He may discipline us to establish us in the right path. This discipline is to shape us and mould us and to establish us.We should think that God does not love
us because He is chastening us. It is the love of God that brings chastening in our lives.
6.EXPECTATION
Psalms 62: 5 - 8
In our relationship of love with God He wants us to have our expectation on Him. He does not want His children to run to somebodyelse when they face needs in their lives. God loves us and wants to meet our needs.Let us learn to depend on Him to meet our needs.
7.ESTEEM
Romans 8:32 Matthew 6:25 - 30
In our relationship of love with God we are highly esteemed and valued by God. We are not mere objects of pity and sympathy but highly treasured children. That is why God paid the ultimate price of sacrificing His only begotten son to redeem us.Whether the world values us or not we can be sure that we are highly valued by God.Let us not allow the devil to make us feel worthless and despised. We are precious in the sight of God.
