Summary: Is it natural to become angry? Is it always a sin to be angry? What is the scriptural permit for anger? What is the best solution for sinful anger?
Before I start this message, I would like to give you some question to consider as you listen:
1. Is it natural to become angry?
2. Is it always a sin to be angry?

4. What is the best solution for sinful anger?
I. Anger in Relation to Murder Matthew 5:21-22
a. Anger hidden in the heart
1. It affects your personality.
2. It eats at you like a strong acid until it finally devours you.
3. You are in constant danger of reaching the boiling point where you will allow your anger to lash out as a deadly viper.
b. Anger expressed in speech
1. Showing contempt for the individual with whom you are angry.
2. “Raca” – vain fellow
c. Anger expressed in hatred
1. It is one thing to be angry, it is yet another to hate someone.
2. It is one thing to criticize, it is yet another to curse and condemn.
3. The Bible says when we curse God’s creation, we curse God.
II. Anger in Relation to Worship Matthew 5:23-24
a. Our relationship to God is vitally connected with our relationship to man. Ephesians 4:26-27
1. Be angry and sin not by being angry with sin.
2. Get rid of your anger before it gets rid of you.
3. No one wins an argument but, the devil, so why help him.
b. Anger affects your worship.
1. How can you love God when you hate man?
2. How can you ask for forgiveness when you refuse to give it?
Should you forgive even when it isn’t your fault? I will answer that question with a question. God always does the forgiving and you are always at fault.
c. Anger affects God
1. According, to his own word God cannot forgive until you forgive.
III. Anger in Relation to Time Matthew 5:25
a. Agree with thine adversary quickly
1. Cut down the weeds before thy cast their seed or you will have an abundant harvest to deal with.
2. Anger is like any other sin. It can start as a sweet cuddly kitten, but soon you find that you have a raging lion on your hands.
b. Let not the sun go down on thy wrath.
1. You do not know what tomorrow holds.
c. The answer to anger!!!!!! Love (1 Corinthians 13:3-7)
1. Love is long suffering.
2. Love is kind.
3. Love does not envy.
4. Love is not filled with pride.
5. Love does not misbehave.
6. Love is not selfish.
7. Love is not easily provoked.
8. Love doesn’t enjoy evil.
9. Love rejoices in truth.
