Highlight the power of choice, the consequences of our decisions, and the blessings that come from choosing to serve God, as exemplified in the story of Esther.

Introduction

Good morning, family. Today, we're going to dive into a passage in the book of Esther, a passage that speaks to us about the power of choice, the consequences of those choices, and the blessings that come when we choose to serve God.

Chuck Swindoll once said, "We are faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations." And this is exactly what we see in the life of Esther.

The Power of Choice

Every day, we make choices, big and small, that shape our lives and the lives of those around us. Esther, a young Jewish woman, found herself in a position of influence as the queen of Persia. She had a choice to make - to risk her life by speaking up for her people or to remain silent and hope for the best.

The courage it takes to make those decisions: Esther knew the law - anyone who approached the king without being summoned could be put to death. Yet, she chose to risk her life for the sake of her people. This is a powerful demonstration of the courage it takes to make difficult choices, especially when those choices involve personal risk.

Involves discernment: Mordecai, Esther's cousin and mentor, reminded her that she could not escape the fate of her people, even in the king's palace. He urged her to consider that perhaps she had been placed in her position for such a time as this. Our choices should not be made in a vacuum. We need to consider the bigger picture, the context in which we're making our choices, and the potential impact of those choices on others.

Involves faith: Esther chose to fast and pray before approaching the king, seeking God's guidance and intervention. Our choices should be grounded in our faith. We should seek God's guidance as we make decisions, trusting that He will lead us in the right direction.

Involves action. Esther didn't just make a decision in her heart; she acted on it. She approached the king, risking her life, and pleaded for the lives of her people. Our choices need to be followed by action. It's not enough to make a decision in our hearts; we need to act on it.

The Consequences of Choice

The consequences of our choices are inescapable, and they can be far-reaching ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
