The Choice Between Life And Death

“Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster...Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life..."

(Deuteronomy 30:15, NLT Deuteronomy 30 : 19-20 NLT).

The choice of life and death is in your hands. God cannot and even Satan cannot decide for you. Wherever you end up in eternity maybe influenced by the physical and spiritual realms, but the ultimate choice is with you.

Everyone wants to live, prosper and be blessed; but to obtain all these depends on the choice you make. You can choose to live by loving and obeying God, accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and being a doer of the word of God. Anything less than this is choosing the path of death, disaster and curses. Proverb 11:19 says plainly, "Godly people find life; evil people find death."

Joshua made the right choice in Joshua 24:15: He said, "as for me and my house we will serve the Lord." Don't be on the fence like the children of Israel who refused to stand for the Lord at Mount Camel until they saw the power of God. "And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word." (1 Kings 18:20). You need to make your stand known today by making the right choice to serve God and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to eternal life with God.

Jesus says in John 5:24, “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life." Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Use your tongue wisely to make the right choice. Worshipping idols and putting love for money, fame, power, sex, parties and other worldly pleasures before God only leads to eternal death and destruction. Romans 8:6 says, "So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace."

The choice between life and death is in your hands. Choose wisely.

"Father, I choose Life, I choose Prosperity, I choose Blessing. I reject Death, I reject Disaster, I reject Curses. My family and I shall live to the glory of God in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen."
