The CHALLENGE OF GOD's CALL-II—Exodus 3:1-22

Assistance/Availability/Discovering/Significance

Attention:

Dec. 30, 2014 the U.S. Dept. Of Energy began offering a standing $1million prize—‘H2 refuel H-Prize’—to that entity or person who could come up with a plan to make fuel cell(for electric cars) refueling economically feasible, faster & nationally available.

Fuel cells convert Hydrogen into Electricity, releasing only water, & heat as waste products.

They are contemplating that individuals should be able to make their own fuel & not have to worry about distance refueling.

It is a true challenge for scientists etc.

Likewise God’s people have a challenge before them in accepting God’s call. It is just as tenuous & even more so than the H2 Refuel challenge.

Exodus records the significance of God’s call to Moses.

Answering God’s call presents a significant challenge.

To What does God’s call present a challenge?

16 challenges of/to God’s call.

Explanation:(:4)Hearing/Sensitivity/Admission/Readiness

:4—“So when the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush & said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” ”

God called “Moses” by name. For Moses there was no question about the fact of God’s “call.” Moses quickly responded to God’s “call” with a statement of surprise & obedience(hnh hin-ney’). Moses does not literally say, “Here I am,” but uses hnh(—Behold, Lo, etc.) as an idiom which translates to “Here I am,” meaning that he was available to the one speaking— ‘Behold/Look/See me, I am here.’

“LORD”—hwhy yeh-ho-vaw'—Jehovah = "the existing One”—1) The proper name of the one true God—1a) unpronounced except with the vowel pointings of ynda Ad-o-noy’. Strong—(the) Self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God.

“Saw”(See below(“Look”), :2—“Looked”; :3, 6, 7)—har raw-aw'—

“Turned aside”(See :3)—rwo soowr—

“Look”(See above(“Saw”), :2, 6)—har raw-aw'—

“God”(See :1, 6)—Myhla el-o-heeym’—

“Called”—arq kaw-raw' —Qal Imperfect—1) To call, call out, recite, read, cry out, proclaim. Strong—a primitive root [rather identical with arq[To encounter/Befall/Meet] through the idea of accosting a person met]; To call out to(i.e. properly--Address by name, but used in a wide variety of applications).

“Moses”—hvm Mo-sheh'—Moses = “drawn"—1) The prophet & lawgiver, leader of the exodus. from hvm maw-shaw'; a primitive root; To pull out(literally or figuratively); Drawing out(of the water), i.e. Rescued; Mosheh, the Israelite lawgiver.

“Here I am”(See :9—“Behold”; :13—“Indeed”)—hnh hin-ney’—Demonstrative Particle—1) Behold, lo!, see, if.

Argumentation:

**Isa. 6:1-10—“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high & lifted up, & the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, & with two he flew. And one cried to another & said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, & the house was filled with smoke. So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, & said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” And He said, “Go, & tell this people: ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ “Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And return & be healed.” ”

**Mat. 9:36-38—“But when He[Jesus] saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary & scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Lk. 10:1-3—“After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, & sent them two by two before His face into every city & place where He Himself was about to go. Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.”
