Youth Sermon: The Book that Changes Nations

Introduction

Hey guys, let's dive into an epic story from the Bible today. But first, let's pray: Jesus, help us to understand Your Word and apply it to our lives. Amen!

So, we've been talking about this dude named Josiah. He was a king, and get this, he was only eight years old when he started ruling. Imagine being in charge of a whole nation at eight!

Josiah's Kingdom

Now, Josiah's kingdom was in a mess. People were worshipping fake gods and doing all sorts of bad stuff. But Josiah, he was different. He wanted to clean up the mess and bring his people back to God.

Here's where it gets interesting. While cleaning up the Temple, they found this old book, the Book of the Law, which was basically God's instructions to His people. It was like finding an old, forgotten instruction manual.

Imagine you've got this super cool, high-tech gadget, but you've lost the manual and can't figure out how to use it. You might press some buttons, maybe even break it. But then, you find the manual, and suddenly, everything makes sense.

The Change

Josiah read the book, felt sorry for all the wrong stuff they'd been doing, and decided to follow God's instructions. He even threw a massive party, the Passover, to celebrate.

So, what can we learn from Josiah? First, reading the Bible can change your life. It's like our instruction manual. Second, deciding to follow God's instructions is a game-changer. It's like saying, "God, I'm in. I want to live Your way." And lastly, the Bible can change not just you, but your friends, your school, even your whole country.

Let's be like Josiah. Let's read God's Word, decide to follow it, and see the change it brings. And who knows, maybe we can start a revival right here in our school!

Conclusion

God, help us to be like Josiah. Give us a hunger for Your Word and the courage to live it out. We want to see a revival in our lives and our school. In Jesus' name, Amen!
