THE BODY OF OUR LORD

Jesus had to prepare for our Salvation.

He did all the preparation in heaven before he came to the earth to give us our life

(1) Prepared in Incarnation

Heb.10: 5Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

(2) Offered in sacrifice

Heb.10; 10By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

(3) Broken in judgment

1st Cor. 11: 24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

(4) Buried in death

John 19: 40Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

(5) Handled in resurrection

Luke 24: 39Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

(6) Glorified in ascension

Phil.3: 21Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

(7) Discerned in communion

1st Cor.11: 29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
