1 Corinthians 11:23-34

This morning we will discuss Healing- HOW TO DISCERN THE BODY

The minute you say healing- there are many obstacles

Benny Hinn- slappin’ foreheads- laying em out- takin’ a tithe

Obstacle-My grandma was a godly woman- we prayed- she died

Like me- brought up taught that God only heals when he wants to

“if it’s your will”- Whatever God wants to do He’ll do

If you’re serving that kind of God- Let me introduce you to Jesus

Not the one talked about in church

Not the one who walked the hills

Jesus the healer- GOD FIXES BROKEN THINGS

DR.’S Don’t know everything- But they know a lot- They call it a practice

We heed their advice-let’s heed God’s advice

JOKE- A man went into the doctor, he “doc it hurts when I touch here, and here and it hurts when I touch here and here, what’s wrong with me?’” The doctor replied, “Your finger’s broken.”

God has always healed, and HE WILL ALWAYS HEAL

God Loves You & He likes YOU

His blood was shed on a cross- His body was broken

Jesus on went to 3 Funerals in his life, screwed all of the up

READ 1 CORINTHIANS 11:23:34

We misread this scripture for years “UNWORTHY”

This isn’t talking about you “RIGHTEOUS STATE”

YOU ARE WORTHY

The unworthy manner -is not recognizing the LORD’S BODY

We hear excuse after excuse-NEVER HEAR THIS

Say the opposite- if we do come- do discern- we’ll be healed

The body of Jesus is the power that heals

Doesn’t say to discern to blood

WE LOVE BLOOD-ANY DENOMINATION- they love blood

“Nothing but the blood” “Power in the Blood”

90% those church that love blood- mention the body heals !!!

When it says “we should examine ourselves”

Not talking about what you’ve been doing “I’m not gonna take it”

You’ve been made worthy- Get your heart right before you take it

Get it right about WHAT? THE LORD”S BODY

His body was broken so yours could be healed

If you just drink the cup- Missing why His body was broken

What helps us to be healed?- HOW DO WE DISCERN THE BODY?

1. Realizing Jesus paid it all!

Exodus 20:13

Let’s look at the Passover Meal

The Lord’s supper is the fulfilled version of Passover meal

You can see here the power of the blood

Spared them from destruction- How bout Jesus’ blood

Don’t hear much here about the bread that was taken

Remember This night- Lamb- blood on post- at the flesh & bread

1 Corinthians 5:6-8

Jesus’ blood was the only thing that could save us from destruction

Jesus was a perfect lamb- spotless

He was a perfect sacrifice- because we’re imperfect

It is clear Jesus’ sacrifice is our redemption- NOT THE LORD”S Supper-

What Jesus did was enough- We can take the Lord’s Supper- Worthy

But Jesus Body was sacrificed – one time for all sin

Isaiah 53- Matthew 17- 1 Peter 2

2. Figuring out who the body is!

1 Corinthians 10:14-17

Yes Jesus body was broken for us 2,000 yrs ago

Who is the body of Christ in this passage-

THE CHURCH- MAYBE WE SHOULD CHANGE HOW WE THINK

“SAUL SAUL”

The body that was broken- and one that is assembled

This body brings healing- “I don’t think we should lay hands”

I DON’T CARE- We are the body- HIS body was broken

We have to remember to be broken- PRIDE-ENVY-ARROGANCE

Let’s break free from the tricks of the Devil- start Healing people

We are here to be the body

1Corinthians 12:12-14

“We’ll I’ve given up on church” You better not- There’s healing here

Let’s not stand around and watch each other be SICK

Paul says when we don’t discern the body- we get sick and die

The body of Christ “the BREAD”

The body of Christ “The Church” – Healing can come when we discern

We need to let people pray for us!- Not limp wristed- if it’s your will

It is His will- PRAY FOR HEALING-

What would the body be- IF the ones that died, had believed in healing

Let’s recognize the body- and the church

Matthew 25

35for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

37"Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, "Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40And the King will answer and say to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.
