The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power
Hebrews 9:22-28
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
I have entitled this today: “The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power”
Without the Blood of Christ, there is no remission of sin.
The people of the old Covenant could not keep all of the law and God knew this.
Verse 18 says: Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
Yes, they had the blood from animals, but again this was under the law and the law was not working with the people.
In verse 19, Moses had spoken to the people according to the law and took the blood of calves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
The Old Testament was leading to the New Testament; the old covenant was leading to the new covenant. (Jesus)
Hebrews 9:22 says:
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
A few things were purged with water, but almost all with blood.
And without shedding of blood is no remission.
The shed Blood of Christ on the Cross is the only solution for the sins, the ills, and the problems of this world.
The problem of the world and the church, as well, is that it has sought to substitute the blood with something else.
What can wash away my sin, nothing but the Blood of Jesus!
Hebrews 9:23
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Everything that pertained to the Tabernacle and all the sacred vessels was a copy of that which was in Heaven.
The Vessels and the Tabernacle were touched by men and had to be purified by blood, animal blood.
But the heavenly things themselves were better sacrifices than these.
If man were to enter Heaven, the abode of God, then there would have to be better sacrifices than that of animal blood.
Hebrews 9:24
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
Christ did not enter the Earthly Tabernacle or Temple, places made with hands.
These were figures of the true; this presents the fact that these figures were only temporary.
Hebrews 9:25
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
This is saying that one sacrifice of Christ, which was the offering of Himself on the Cross, was eternally sufficient with the cleansing from all sin.
Past, present, and future it will never need to be repeated.
Verse 25 also says: as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
This refers to the High Priest of Israel of old who went into the Holy of Holies once a year on the great day of Atonement, carrying animal blood.
Jesus does not function as the High Priest of Israel used to do; His sacrifice of Himself was eternally good.
Animal blood covered the sin, but Jesus’ Blood takes away our sin.
Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Hebrews 9:27
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Due to the fall of man, we are all under the sentence of death, and in fact all have died spiritually, which means to be separated from God.
