The Biblical Path of Blessing

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are

among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million

who will not survive this week

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of

torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend church meetings without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are

more blessed than three billion in the world.

And if your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare, even in the United States.

Ps 1:1-6

THE BIBLE TEACHES US MANY THINGS ABOUT GOD’S BLESSINGS FOR US

I - Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly

A - there are ways that are acceptable to God - we would call godly ways

1 - honest in dealings

Prov 6:13-15

2 - honest in speech

Col 3:8-9

3 - not surrounded by the ungodly

Prov 13:20

II - his delight is in the law of the LORD

A - Looking to God’s Word and Obeying it brings blessing

1 - He/She is blessed in their deeds or actions

James 1:25

2 - because he thinks on God’s Word

Ps 119:15-16 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight

myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. (KJV)

Ps 112:1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly

in his commandments.

III - Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

A - Is there is a way to walk in that is sin free!?! No charge for wrong deeds/thoughts

1 - imagine living without fear of God’s wrath upon you!!

I Jn 1:14

2 - Walk with Him!! In the light

CONCLUSION

You may feel this path of blessing can be a hard one - You would be right it is staight and narrow

Matt 7:13-14

It is strait and narrow and it leads to eternal life

Temptations and all!!

Jer 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
