Summary: Within each of us is a battle. A battle of good and evil A battle of right and wrong A battle of the Carnal Nature and the Spiritual Nature of Christ.

The Believers Two Natures

Within each of us is a battle.

A battle of good and evil

A battle of right and wrong

A battle of the Carnal Nature and the Spiritual Nature of Christ.

In Romans

The Apostle Paul said it Like this

For I do not understand what I am doing; for I am not practicing what I want to do, but I do the very thing I hate.

This battle goes way back in scripture

Galatians 4:22-23

Abraham had 2 sons:

Ishmael

Isaac

Ishmael:

The one by a bond woman Hagar who was Abraham’s wife, Sarah servant or slave at that time.

Scripture says that the one born after the bondwoman was born from the Flesh

Another words Carnal

Isaac:

The freewoman was born by promise.

The promise Spiritual

2 Children same Father

Because of a war between the flesh and the spirit that Abraham faced.

1) The consequences are still being felt today.

Hagar:

a. Hagar basically becoming the mother of the Islamic faith or the Muslim faith.

b. Wants to destroy Israel and the Christian Faith

Sarah:

The Mother of Isaac which eventually brought forth the promise… Jesus

Just like Paul as Christians we are still fighting this battle between the flesh and the Spirit.

“The Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

So, the question becomes how do we win this battle?

1) Yielding

a. Surender your will to His will

b. Have to go to the garden

i. A place of decision

2) Feeding

a. Have to be Hungry

b. Feed the Spirit Man

c. Word of God is the bread of Life

d. Jesus is the word the word is Jesus

i. How do we treat the Word?

3) Thirst

a. Rivers of living water

You see the Nature you feed the most is the nature that rules the most.

The question becomes which nature are we feeding the most

The Nature of Christ or the sinful nature

4) Recognize the battle

I don’t understand what is going on

One morning I’m on the mountain

Next morning I’m in the valley

Mystery

Luke 10:24

For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.”

We often say when I get to heaven, I am going to ask Moses, Abraham, King David, Job, Jonah etc how did they….

But I think they are also going to want to ask us New Testament believers some questions also

How was it to have the Bible to Learn, A church to go to

To be able to have the Holy Spirit living on the inside, leading guiding

To experience the forgiveness of Jesus Christ

To have access to God the Father through Jesus Christ and the Blood shed

Ephesians 3:6

. 6 This mystery is

1 that the Gentiles are x fellow heirs, y members of the same body, and z partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel

Ephesians 6

This mystery is

YOU are X Y Z

X fellow heirs,

Y members of the same body,

Z partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

Mystery is found at the Cross

A Place of Love

A Place of Acceptance
