Psalm 18:1-3 THE BELIEVER'S SONG OF VICTORY I. THE PLAN OF THE PSALMIST - 1 And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. Plan To : - (a) Love The Lord - And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. (b) Lean On The Lord - O LORD, my strength. (c) Live For The Lord - And he said, I will love thee II. THE PRAISE OF THE PSALMIST - 2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. A. For A Personal God - 2 The LORD is my rock B. For A Powerful God - 2 The LORD is my rock C. For A Plentiful God - 2 The LORD is my rock 1. His Stability - my rock Heb. 13:8. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, 2. His Security - and my fortress 3. His Salvation - my deliverer Psalm 142 :4 I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. 5 I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. 4. His Sovereignty - my God 5. His Strength - my strength - Psa. 46:1 God is our refuge 6. His Shelter - David calls the Lord a "buckler" a shield 7. His Supply - and the horn of my salvation 8. His Sufficiency - and my high tower - 1 Sam. 17:47 And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hands. III. THE PRAYER OF THE PSALMIST - 3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. i. Prayer's Resolve - I will call upon the LORD, ii. Prayer's Reason - who is worthy to be praised iii. Prayer's Result - so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
