Summary: Christmas

“The Beginning of The End”

Phil. 2:5-11

12-22-2002

We often view the Christmas time when Jesus came to earth to become a man.

This is true but I have an additional thought for you.

This was not the beginning of Jesus but rather “The Beginning of The End”

Jesus was not created to be our Saviour.

Jesus is God, eternal in every way with no beginning and He has no end.

So the beginning of the end of what?

SIN!

I. From the Penalty of Sin

Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

II. From the Curse of the Law

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

III. From our separation from God caused by SIN.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Hebrews 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Conclusion:

What will you do with the babe in a manger?

Wrapped in swaddling clothes.

Helpless as a child.

Will he remain their in our minds forever a child and never your Saviour and King?

Will he be your Saviour?

Will he also be your Lord?
