2 Peter 1:1-4

The first time Our family went to Ruidoso—

Packed everything----Going to the mountains

We had everything we needed

We didn’t know they had a Wal-Mart, McDonald’s etc.

We ended up not needing them—

Certain things you have to pack

Camping– Tent

Swimming– Suit

Fishing– Pole, Bait

Skydiving– Parachute

Hunting– Brain Scan.... Too Early

To help explain, the importance of the basics...

There are always bare nessecities–

Things that You have to have

1. Power-

God is a supernatural God— He is not of this World

You are not of this world—

We are a supernatural people

God has given us the power–

To be overcomers, conquerers. Victors

Romans 15: 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit in YOU– HAS POWER

Pentecostals– Power to heal, tongues, prophecy, —

I believe all that

BUT I’M TALKING ABOUT— Power to be nice, Power to love, Power to Care, Power to Give

If you’re not using the power of the Holy Spirit–- You’re Sunk

When the world loses power— Everything Shuts Down

Lights, Stadiums, Coke Machines, TV, Gas Pumps,

If you lose your power— Everything’s Gonna Shut Down

Power– Kids, job, Marriage, Finances,---

2. People

You need a family of people who love you FOR YOU

Those people didn’t care about me--- They care what I had to offer them

God Made Adam– NOT GOOD FOR YOU TO BE ALONE

Ecclesiastes 4: 9 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.

Have a friend–

Have Somebody who care about you/ more than friendship

Have someone you can talk to, VENT TO, DUMP ON

When you watch the world begin to overwhelm Christians—

1st Thing to GO— IS GOD & THE CHURCH

Don’t have TIME– Don’t need the ACCOUNTABILITY–

It’s not worth it

God first, then Church, Then Family— Nothing Left

Hebrews 10: 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,

25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

We’re not gathering Here– We assembling>>>

KEEP THE PEOPLE THAT LOVE YOU— AROUND YOU

3. Principles-

Beliefs, Morals, Convictions, — Something to live by

Something to give you stability in times of TROUBLE

God’s Principles are the OPPOSITE of the world

What’s right?– What does the world say?—

OH, I”ll do the opposite

Be Good – Go to heaven— Jesus is The way–

It’s by the Grace of God— Not about works/ Law

Baseball Game— “It’s hard to act like a Christian”

It ain’t hard— BECAUSE I AIN’T ACTING

I’m narrow minded about how to get to heaven—

Open minded on other things

This ain’t about being Close– and I’ll get there

Dr. – Radiation burning a tumor out— GOT CLOSE

World says–

Die with the most toys— Jesus said, GIVE– MORE BLESSED

Why? By nature, NATURE of THE WORLD– Stingy, Selfish,

Know what you believe and stick to it—

LIVE PEACEABLY/ as much as poss.

4. Plans- How’s God gonna use you----

Are you living by design or default—

God does have a plan for you----

1. Made By God 2. Made for God

If you’re just floating---- EVOLUTION–

Any old sludge will do

YOU WE’RE CREATED FOR A REASON

God made U and ONLY U–

“More like brother/ Sister” Why cant u shut up

Ephesians 2: 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

God made us different—

Paul– Loud, aggressive, Raw,—

Mark ain’t going— Wuss, Wimp

Was Paul wrong?, NO! THAT”S WHO PAUL WAS

When I started preaching—

GOOD LITTLE BAPTIST— Wasn’t ME

Say, “God, here I am, Send Me”

“Let me do what you made me to do”

Plan you’re life around why God place you here

5. Purpose- “I live for the week-end”–

You’re an idiot with no purpose

Those guys– Cowboys Lose, Ruins whole Day

Find something to live for— LIVE THE ABUNDANT LIFE

It’s not clothes, Job, car, Salary, Spouse, Where you live

Solomon— 700 wives, 300 Mist.– All the money in the world– Miserable

God gave us a world, kingdom, family, job, health, life, words,
