Summary: While many are praying for revival in the Church, I'm praying for an awakening!

Mark 5:38-41

38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. (KJV)

While many are praying for revival in the Church, I'm praying for an awakening!

Title: ~~~

Let me explain my statement. Revival means to bring back to life. You can't bring back to life what is not dead. I realize that in many ways the Church as a whole may seem to be dead to some. However, the Church, the true Church can't die. Why?

John 11:25-26

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (KJV)

The Church is a living organism. It is saturated with resurrection power & life!

In our text, Jesus said, “The damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.”

While the Church can't die, it does have the tendency to fall asleep from time to time.

I believe that by and large, the Body of Christ has been lulled to sleep by the enemy. You see, he knows that he can't kill the Church. However, he has managed to convinced her to close her eyes in sleep. He has slipped her a spiritual mickey, so to speak.

Oh, But there is HOPE!!!

(KJV)

The world may be laughing, but they won't be laughing for long!!! Jesus is on the scene!!!

Notice vs. 41

“Damsel, I say unto thee, arise”

I like the God's Word translation...

Mark 5:41

41 Jesus took the child's hand and said to her, "Talitha, koum!" which means, "Little girl, I'm telling you to get up!" (GOD'S WORD)

It's time to get up!!! It's time to awaken!!!

I) Warriors

Joel 3:9

9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: (KJV)

II) Watchmen

Isa 56:10

10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. (KJV)

III) Intercessors

Mark 14:37-38

37 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. (KJV)

Revival cannot happen in our communities until the Church awakens!
