The Armor Of God

Many of us got new clothes for Christmas

I love the way I look in new clothes

I look good... I look different... I look fresh

This morning...

I want to give you some clothes

SO YOU LOOK GOOD...DIFFERENT...FRESH

Ephesians 6:10-17

The armor of God... Looks good on you

For every piece of clothing CHRIST HAS FOR YOU....

SO DOES SATAN

1. Gird you waist with truth... (some trans. says BELT of truth)

This has always caused division in the BODY OF CHRIST

We got the truth...No we do...

Believe like us you’ll go to heaven.. Believe like them you’ll go to Hell

It is important... To know what you believe... And that it’s truth

BIG ARGUMENT.... “The Bible can mean different things to different people”

It can, but God only meant one thing, when He inspired it

Jesus said, JOHN 14:6 ... I am the way... the truth.... the life

Truth is not something it’s someone.... JESUS IS TRUTH... Gird you waist with him

If Christ want you to wear truth.... Satan want you to wear lies

When you believe a lie...about God... Yourself... Someone Else

If Jesus is the TRUTH.... ANYTHING TO GET YOUR EYES OFF OF HIM

2. Breastplate of Righteousness

The Revelation of RIGHTEOUSNESS... Is VITAL TO CHRISTIANS

If you don’t know what you are... HOW CAN YOU LIVE PROPERLY

If a bear doesn’t know he’s a bear...Won’t hibernate

If a fish doesn’t know he’s a fish.... Might try living in the desert

You have to know who and what you are... YOU ARE RIGHTEOUS

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

If Christ is your Savior.... YOU ARE RIGHTEOUS

Satan wants you to wear... UNRIGHTEOUSNESS

“I’m no good” “I’m an old sinner” “I Don’t measure up” “How could god love me

If Satan can get you to wear unrighteousness... Won’t know how to live

3. Shod you feet w/ Gospel of Peace

Being a Christian is not about FIGHTING... It’s about PEACE

The Gospel... Good News... Is about PEACE

Luke 2: 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14 “ Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men ”

There has never been IN the earth... People have always Fought, wars, Battles

On the night CHRIST WAS BORN... PEACE ON EARTH

God would no longer pour his wrath on people.... FOR THEIR SIN

He POURED OUT HIS WRATH ONE LAST TIME ON JESUS

Satan wants you to wear strife, turmoil, fighting

4. Above all... The Shield of Faith

Have faith in God... He is GOD

He can’t just be GOD when THINGS ARE GOOD

You need faith in the TOUGH TIMES... ABOVE ALL THE SHIELD OF FAITH...

.........With which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one

When you go through trouble.. It’s not the trouble that beats you

You lose faith in God.... CANT FIGHT OFF THE DART OF THE EVIL ONE

Above all... YOU NEED THE SHIELD OF FAITH

Satan wants you to wear.... Un faithfulness

This is when he wins...

If he can cause you to doubt God ... Make you think, you can fix it...Handle it

5. The helmet of Salvation...

Always remember that YOU ARE SAVED

When you are saved... Take that confidence and live in it

When someone accepts Christ here at freedom.... Here’s the POWER TO LIVE

Your goal isn’t heaven... Your goal is to take this salvation... LIVE LIFE...abundant

SATAN WANT YOU TO WEAR... UNASSURANCE

Minute you’re saved... Satan spends the rest of your life... Convince you otherwise

I always tell new Christians... Never forget the day You accepted Christ

6. The sword of the Spirit...Which is the word

I grew up believing... THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT IS THE BIBLE

In the Greek....2 different words translated “word”

LOGOS...Written word... The Bible... The Scriptures

RHEMA..Spoken word...def: That which has been uttered by a literal voice

It is important... TO READ THE WORD..... LOGOS

It’s of great importance... TO LISTEN FOR THE WORD... RHEMA

It is the sword of the Spirit... The others shield you... THIS ONE FIGHTS..offense

Satan want you to wear... God doesn’t speak

He doesn’t talk...He said what he had to say...put it in a book.... He’s DONE

God wants to speak to you today.... LISTEN FOR IT

THESE ARE THE NEW CLOTHES I”M GIVING YOU

LOOK GOOD... LOOK DIFFERENT... LOOK FRESH
