Good morning, my cherished siblings in Christ. It's a joy to be here with you today, to stand at the threshold of God's Word together, to knock and to find that the door is always open to us. We are about to embark on an exploration of a passage from the Gospel of Matthew, a passage that shines a light on the very heart of our Savior's teaching, His authority, and His discernment.
The great preacher Charles Spurgeon once said, "Visit many good books, but live in the Bible." So let's live in the Bible for a while this morning, shall we? Let's allow its truth to permeate our hearts and minds, to shape our understanding and guide our actions. Now, let's turn our attention to the first piece of this grand cathedral, the first stone in this arch. We find it in the way Jesus taught, in the wisdom and discernibility that marked His words. When the crowds heard Jesus speak, they didn't just hear words. They heard truth. They heard wisdom. They heard discernment. They heard a kind of judgment that was unlike anything they had ever experienced before.

It was for us. It's for you and me. It's for all who seek to follow Jesus, to live as He lived, to love as He loved.
