That’s for sure

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

The will of God. Accomplishing the will of God in our lives, should be our number one goal as believers of Jesus Christ, and born-again followers in his kingdom.

Several times, Jesus said “ I do not my will, but the will of him who sent me.”

He knew that he was not here to accomplish only what he wanted to accomplish, but that his purpose was much greater than that.

When the Lord taught the disciples to pray, he told them to say, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

The same is true for us, The purpose of God in our lives, far outweighs the temporary satisfactions of this life.

Tell your neighbor, you have a purpose !!!

Our purpose for being here today, is not so that I can stand here, and try to look holier than thou, and try to tell you how to live. But the purpose for us being gathered together, in one mind, and one accord, is so that we may grow together as a body, and learn how to function properly for the kingdom of God.

The purpose of your life as an individual however, is completely different than your neighbor. Your purpose is to be a light in the darkness, and a place of stability in a broken world.

The fact of the matter is, that you can reach people, who no one else in this entire world may be able to reach.

With all of the things that God has brought you through in your life, it could be that only you, can reach someone else who has gone through a similar event.

Joyce Meyer…..people who have gone through similar struggles can relate.

Kim Clement…..drugs

People who have come from serious illness’ Kenneth Hagin, Oral Roberts….function in healing ministries. Your purpose is developed through your circumstances.

How do I find my purpose, and what is God’s will for my life ?

The answer to this lies in things that you have endured thus far. Many of us know what it means to lose someone close to us. One of your ministries could be that you can counsel others who have gone through this painful process.

Alcohol, Drugs, Depression, Anxiety, abuse, homelessness, whatever it is that you’ve been through, is a good sign that this is your ministry.

While it is impossible for any man to be able to fully comprehend the mind of God, he does give us some insight into his will. The bible tells us that his thoughts are above our thoughts, and his ways are above our ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are his ways above our ways.

The bible goes on to tell us that God is incomprehensible. Job 11:7-10

7 “Can you discover the depths of God?

Can you discover the limits of the Almighty?

8 “They are high as the heavens, what can you do?

Deeper than Sheol, what can you know?

9 “Its measure is longer than the earth

And broader than the sea.

10 “If He passes by or shuts up,

Or calls an assembly, who can restrain Him?

While God can not be completely understood, he does give us insight into portions of what his will is for our lives.

Dt. 30: 9 “Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers;

10 if you obey the LORD your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and soul.

The will of the father is that you would seek him with all of your heart, and all of your soul. It is repeated time and time again, what the Lord requires for us to truly be in the will of God.

Duet. 4:29 “But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.

It is impossible to be in the perfect will of God, if you are not seeking him wholeheartedly.

The bible tells us that the eyes of the Lord go to and fro throughout the earth, looking for someone to show himself strong in, whose heart is perfect toward him. God is just looking for someone to show himself strong in. He’s searching, not just for someone who has the look down, and not just for someone who has all of the Christian lingo, but God is looking for someone who will cry out, NOT MY WILL, But yours be done.
