That They Will Know

Summary: BIBLICAL TRUTHS MUST PASS TO FUTURE GENERATIONS
THAT THEY WILL KNOW
OBSERVATION:
ASAPH, THE WRITER OF THIS PSALM, WANTED BIBLICAL TRUTHS PRESERVED FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. THIS REALITY AVERTED STUBBORNNESS, REBELLION AND UNFAITHFULNESS TO GOD. WRITTEN TO ANCIENT ISRAEL, IT APPLIES TODAY.
INTERPRETATION:
PSALMS 78: 6-7 (NEW KING JAMES VERSION) THAT THE GENERATION TO COME MIGHT KNOW THEM, THE CHILDREN WHO WOULD BE BORN, THAT THEY MAY ARISE AND DECLARE THEM TO THEIR CHILDREN. THAT THEY MAY SET THEIR HOPE IN GOD, AND NOT FORGET THE WORKS OF GOD, BUT KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS.
PSALMS 78: 6-7 (THE BOOK) SO THE NEXT GENERATION MIGHT KNOW THEM-EVEN THE CHILDREN NOT YET BORN-THAT THEY IN TURN MIGHT TEACH THEIR CHILDREN. SO EACH GENERATION CAN SET ITS HOPE ANEW ON GOD, REMEMBERING HIS GLORIOUS MIRACLES AND OBEYING HIS COMMANDS.
THE CHURCH MUST FILL THE GAPS WHEN OTHERS WILL NOT OR CANNOT INSTILL GODLY PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES. WHOEVER BEARS THIS RESPONSIBLE MUST, PROCEED WITH CONFIDENCE AND VISION AND GET THE JOB DONE.
GOD’S DESIGN IS FOR THE WORLD TO GROW WISER AND BETTER FOR ALL FUTURE GENERATIONS BY HIS WORD. THE PROCESS IS MANDATED, ENRICHING AND WORTHY.
READING AND MEMORIZING THE WORD IS A VALUABLE HABIT. F. B. MEYER QUOTES (THE WHEELS OF THE MIND AND HEART MUST GRIND-LET THEM GRIND WHEAT).
READ PROVERBS 2: 8-12
APPLICATION: PSALMS 71:18 (NKJV) NOW ALSO WHEN I AM OLD AND GRAY HEADED, O GOD, DO NOT FORSAKE ME, UNTIL I DECLARE YOUR STRENGTH TO THIS GENERATION, YOUR POWER TO EVERYONE WHO IS TO COME.
