Summary: The power of resurrection transforms the lives of men and raise men that are dead in sin to live righteously for God.

TEXT: Philippians 3:10

"I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death."

ALL POWER BELONGS TO GOD

In my local Pidgin English parlance, we say, "power pass power." It means there are levels of powers. There is a power that is superior to all other powers. Psalms 62:11 says, "God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God." Power belongs to God, the one that created everything from nothing (Gen 1:1-3). No one can contest with the one who has power not only to kill but to cast people into hell (Luke 12:5). God is Omnipotent, he can do all things. Nothing is impossible to him.

Jesus demonstrated the awesome power of God when he performed miracles and healed many to to the astonishment of all. No one had seen such scale of God's grandiose powers. When he raised Jairus daughter, the widow of Nain son and his friend Lazarus from the dead, he gave the world a glimpse of the power of resurrection. He had earlier told Martha, "I am the resurrection and the life" (John 11:25). And then Jesus died. How can the resurrection and life die? But when he resurrected from the dead, the whole world knew that 'power pass power.' The power that raised Jesus from the dead is still active today because Jesus lives.

Jesus declared: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me..." (Mt 28:18). God also gave him the name above every name, at the name of Jesus, every knee in heaven, on earth and underneath the earth bows, and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord to God's glory (Phil 2:9-11).

THE POWER OF RESURRECTION

The power of resurrection is a transformational power that moves one from death to life. Jesus died and rose again so that you may live eternally with him. As John 1:22 puts it, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name," When you encounter the power of resurrection, you receive power to become a child of God. You are translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God (Col 1:13). The light of God will flood your life and extinguish every power of darkness working in your life in Jesus name.

The power of Christ's resurrection not only saves but delivers from the power of darkness. and destroys the works of Satan (1 John 3:8). The devil's main ministry is to steal, kill and destroy but the Resurrection and Life - Jesus, gives abundant life. Embrace the power of resurrection today.

PRAYER:

Father, let the power that raised Jesus from the dead transform my life in Jesus name.

CONFESSION:

I am crucified with Christ and live by faith in him.

God bless you. Shalom.
