Its so sad how many people have gone back on the Lord today.

I was talking to some preacher friends the other day, about how the church is falling off how people don’t have the Lords work in their hearts like they use to.

Backsliding is a common thing today people just return to their old ways of life.

There is a reason for this, not sold out to God.

1. No spiritual leaders.

Exodus 32:1And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

2And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.

3And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

4And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

5And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.

6And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

7And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:

8They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

We need to return to the power of God.

We need to be leaders people can see God working in us.

We need to let the spirit work in us.

2. Evil associations

1st Kings 11:4For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

We tend to mix with the world to much

As age comes upon us we become slack

What ever when ever how ever

Be careful what you mix in your life

3. Worldly success

2nd Chronicles 25:2And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart

Sometimes we think ourselves as God

We think we are above sin

Success go to our head.

We take life in our hands

4. Shallowness

Luke 8:13They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Not rooted in the word of God.

Hear but don’t receive

Read but don’t understand

Top ground Christians want last

Temptation gets them when the going get rough

5.Emptiness of life

Luke 11:. 24When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

25And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.

26Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

Run back to the same old crowd as before

Mixing evil with evil want work

Most find them selves deeper in than before.

6. Lack of spiritual insight

John 6:63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

64But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

65And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

66From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

To many church members today don’t believe God

To many don’t trust his word

To many want listen to his spirit

To many have to much of the world in their hearts.

They cant see what is in store for them
