Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas

Summary: We need to see what God did for us.

Thankfulness comes from a very grateful heart

1st Cor.15: 57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Don’t you think we should be more thankful for what God does for us everyday?

If we have a grateful heart for what God has done for us we would praise him and

Have a gladness of heart.

(1) Our faith in Jesus Christ

2nd Tim.1: 12For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Saving Faith not mental assent.

Serving Faith instead of slackly slander.

Satisfying Faith, instead of a Sunday searcher.

(2) The many fine Churches.

Ephesians 4: 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Co-operation instead of competition

Christ center instead of clannish

Christians white washed by Christ.

White washed church members.

(3) A Joyful fellowship.

1st John1: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Preach the word as the word of God

Praise him for all his wonderful love.

Pray for each other as laborers.

(4) The manifold favors of our country

Rom .13: 1Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

6For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

7Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Freedoms we enjoy as American citizens

Finances we enjoy in material blessings

Family we enjoy as a home instead of commune

(5) The message of forgiveness at Calvary

Col.1: 14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Eph.1: 7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

The love of God clearly revealed

The light of salvation can be easily recognized

The lost sinner can now fully redeemed
