There is a need for spiritual cleansing within the church, removing anything that doesn't honor God.
Good morning, brothers and sisters. I'm sure we've all had those moments when the clutter around our house becomes too much and we're compelled to do a big clean-up. Well, our spiritual house, our church, sometimes needs a good cleaning too. Oswald Chambers, a respected Christian teacher and author, once said, "Prayer is not a preparation for the battle; it is the battle." So, as we prepare to delve into God's word, let's be ready to do battle with anything that doesn't belong in our church.
Our Scripture today comes from 2 Chronicles 29:5-6, "He said to them, 'Listen to me, Levites! Now consecrate yourselves, and consecrate the house of the LORD, the God of your ancestors, and carry out the rubbish from the Holy Place. For our fathers have been unfaithful and have done what was evil in the sight of the LORD our God. They have forsaken Him, have turned away their faces from the dwelling place of the LORD, and turned their backs.'"
