"Take Courage! It Is I. Don’t Be Afraid.”

Summary: But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
1. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD.
• He can walk on water.
• 25Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
• Jeremiah 32:17
Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
2. HE IS OUR GREAT ENCOURAGER.
• 27But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
• There are at least 365 mentioned of the word “Do not fear” in the Bible.
• Isaiah 41:13
For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

3. WE MUST FOCUS ON HIM.

30But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” 32And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
