INTRODUCTION:

Divine lifting is God’s supernatural act of promoting a person beyond human qualifications or natural limitations. It is the manifestation of God’s grace that changes one’s level of influence, status, and honour. Many rejoice when God lifts them, but few understand how to sustain that lifting.

The danger is not always in obtaining divine elevation but in maintaining it. The same God who lifts can also bring down those who forget the Source of their elevation. Pride, disobedience, and spiritual carelessness have caused many to fall from divine heights.

To sustain divine lifting, one must remain humble, obedient, and deeply rooted in relationship with God. It is by continually walking in alignment with His Word that we preserve our promotion and move from glory to glory.

1. REMEMBERING GOD AS THE SOURCE OF YOUR LIFTING

Divine lifting must always lead to deeper gratitude and dependence on God. Forgetting the Source invites downfall.

a) The Danger of Forgetfulness (Deuteronomy 8:11-14)

When people forget God after success, they begin to idolise their achievements and lose divine favour.

b) Gratitude Sustains Elevation (Psalm 103:2)

A thankful heart keeps attracting God’s blessings because thanksgiving acknowledges Him as the Lifter.

c) Pride is the Enemy of Sustained Lifting (Proverbs 16:18)

Pride disconnects a person from grace; humility maintains the flow of divine help.

d) A Lifestyle of Dependence (John 15:5)

True success is sustained only when we abide in Christ, recognising that apart from Him, we can do nothing.

Biblical Example: King Uzziah was lifted by God but fell into destruction when he became proud (2 Chronicles 26:15-16).

2. CONTINUAL OBEDIENCE TO DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS

Obedience is the key to maintaining divine promotion. The same voice that lifted you must continue to lead you.

a) God’s Instructions Preserve Success (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)

Obedience guarantees continued blessings and divine covering.

b) Partial Obedience is Disobedience (1 Samuel 15:22-23)

Saul lost his throne because he failed to obey completely; obedience must be total.

c) Walking in the Word Keeps You Grounded (Psalm 119:105)

God’s Word provides light that guides you and prevents falling into traps.

d) The Spirit of Obedience (Ezekiel 36:27)

The Holy Spirit enables believers to walk in obedience consistently.

Biblical Example: Abraham sustained his lifting through lifelong obedience (Genesis 22:15-18).

3. CULTIVATING HUMILITY AND SERVICE

Those lifted by God must remain servants, for humility keeps the heart aligned with divine will.

a) God Resists the Proud (James 4:6)

Pride invites resistance from God; humility attracts fresh grace.

b) True Greatness is in Service (Mark 10:43-45)

Serving others after being lifted keeps you relevant and useful in God’s kingdom.

c) Humility Brings Promotion (Philippians 2:8-9)

Jesus’ humility led to His exaltation; likewise, humility secures lasting promotion.

d) Accountability Sustains Honour (Proverbs 27:17)

Surrounding yourself with godly counsel and accountability partners prevents spiritual downfall.

Biblical Example: Joseph remained humble and served diligently even in authority, sustaining divine favour (Genesis 41:38-44).

4. MAINTAINING SPIRITUAL FIRE AND FELLOWSHIP

Divine lifting can only be sustained in the atmosphere of spiritual fervency and communion with God.

a) Prayer Keeps the Connection Alive (Luke 18:1)

A life of prayer maintains divine partnership and direction.

b) The Word Sustains the Lifted Life (Joshua 1:8)

Meditation on God’s Word ensures continued prosperity and success.

c) Fellowship Strengthens Spiritual Stability (Hebrews 10:25)

Staying connected to other believers helps you grow and remain accountable.

d) Guard Against Spiritual Slumber (Matthew 26:41)

Spiritual laxity opens doors for attacks that can bring one down from divine heights.

Biblical Example: Daniel maintained his spiritual life even in Babylon and remained lifted till the end (Daniel 6:10-28).

CONCLUSION:

Sustaining divine lifting requires consistent obedience, humility, gratitude, and deep intimacy with God. Those who stay connected to the Source never lose relevance, for the same God who lifts will uphold.

When you honour God with your success and maintain fellowship with Him, your promotion will not be temporary—it will be generational. May your lifting not become a story of the past, but a testimony that keeps shining for His glory.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, thank You for being the Source of every lifting in my life.

2. Lord, deliver me from pride and self-glory that leads to downfall.

3. Father, grant me the grace to always remember You in my success.

4. Lord, help me to walk in continual obedience to Your Word.

5. Father, empower me to maintain a humble and teachable spirit.

6. Lord, keep my spiritual fire burning always.
