SUSTAINING EXCEEDING GLORY 2

MAIN TEXT: LEVITICUS 6:12-13

INTRODUCTION:

To sustain means to maintain or to keep in existence. It also means to keep from falling. The encounter with the God of glory truly transforms; when the prison guard experienced the God of glory in Acts 16:30, he asked; “what must I do to be saved”? Even Apostle Paul stood out for what he stood against formerly because of the Damascus encounter with God. A fisher man by name Peter experienced the glory of God and he began to talk like a builder; Matthew 17:4 - “Let’s build three tents”. To every vessel of God; there are two major manifold glory of God. Firstly is the glory for the earthly ministry and secondly is the glory of life beyond this earth realm.

1. GO FOR THE WAYS OF GOD – Exodus 33:12-13

The way of God leads you to know God better and makes you to carry God within. His acts will make you a “follow-follow Christian”. Miracle seekers do not end up becoming good disciples. Jesus Christ made His disciples through teaching His ways and to the multitudes, he gave them signs.

2. LIVE IN GOD’S PRESENCE – Deuteronomy 31:14-15, Exodus 24:13-18

God does not work with anyone from a distance. Any day you change your spiritual as a Christian and begin to live worldly, you gradually begin to die. There is a godly habitat for Christians. Spiritual suffocation sets in because people leave the “SECRET PLACE” – conducive for the Holy Spirit. HOW TO LIVE IN THE SECRET PLACE??? (i) Prayer- Leonard Ravenhill said that no man is greater than his prayer life. It is said that the way to learn how to pray is to pray, but I want to add that the person must pray for the Holy Spirit baptizes him to pray properly and rightly because to pray is the ministry of the Holy Spirit – Romans 8:26. (ii) Studying and becoming one with God’s word – the quality of God’s word within us, determines the number of hungry souls we can feed. There is indeed a great expectation of souls waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. In Romans 8:19, creatures wait for co-creators and these are the sons of God. By God’s word the earth was made and through the word of God, man who is born of God can exercise dominion over the earth.

3. GROW IN GRACE – Philippians 1:6

We are more concerned on how fast we grow but God’s concern is how strong we grow. The strength we possess, will keep us from falling when the battle begins to rage. There is always a battle against our glory in Christ but the more we strongly grow in the grace, the better for us. It does not take a day to fall, but it is a progression of carelessness and sin. Grace is not a cover up to dwell in sin but it is the power over sin and flesh. Another vital key to grow strong is to undergo discipleship under a faithful and fervent Christian mentor – this has yielded great results in the lives of many people.

CONCLUSION - Experiencing the transfiguration births transformation. Every man needs a face to face encounter with the God of glory just like Apostle Paul.
