Gen 3:17-19

Intro: Whether you or a loved one is facing death, you need to know how to be a survivor and not a statistic!

The bible tells us death is the result of sin. Satan has tried to destroy, and deceive you into believing that you have been left all alone. Like the lone sheep, the wolf seeks to attack. But, you need to know that;

I. You Are Not Alone – don’t believe the lie, as this causes deep depression. Stay away from that. Know that you have-

A. Family

1) Physical

2) Spiritual

B. Friends

1)there are those who have walked where you are walking

C. Jesus

1)never will leave you

2)a Friend like no other

Let’s get a better prospective of death

II. Death is not the End – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NLT) 13 And now, brothers and sisters, I want you to know what will happen to the Christians who have died so you will not be full of sorrow like people who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus comes, God will bring back with Jesus all the Christians who have died.

A. A Christians death is precious to the Lord - Psalm 116:15 (NLT) 15 The LORD’s loved ones are precious to him; it grieves him when they die.

B. Death brings Peace - Isaiah 57:1-2 (NLT) 1 The righteous pass away; the godly often die before their time. And no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. 2 For the godly who die will rest in peace.

C. Brings Fellowship with Jesus - Acts 7:59 (NLT) 59 And as they stoned him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”

Death is sure;

III. You must Prepare your Spiritual Life Hebrews 9:27-28 (NLT) 27 And just as it is destined that each person dies only once and after that comes judgment, 28 so also Christ died only once as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again but not to deal with our sins again. This time he will bring salvation to all those who are eagerly waiting for him.
