Summary: He is allways there.
SURPRIZE SURPRIZE
Isaiah 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
Homecoming is a time that we come back to the Lords house maybe where we were raised are where we were saved.
Remising on times past and looking at the present . it’s a time of thanksgiving a time of fellowship.
Isaiah 56 :7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
The children here come back for SPIRITUAL joy.
The children here come for JOINT worship
The children here come for the GREATNESS of God.
We came today to sing ,pray ,preach and eat .
I see a similarity to the parable Jesus gives us in Luke’s Gospel
Luke 15:11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
Sometimes we just have to see the reality the life has then we want to come home.
1. This young man had to see where he was. Ver 15
He was out of Gods will
He living in sin
He was all alone
2.He had to see what he lost Ver. 16
He lost all his friends
He lost all his family
He lost all his money.
3.He had to think back Ver. 17
When in a hog pin eating with them his mind went home
My fathers has plenty
My fathers house is always open
4. He saw his needs and knew what to do. Ver. 18
I need to get up
I need to go home
I need to confess
5. His long trip home Ver 19
In his heart there was fear
In his mind he was thinking what will happen.
In his soul he was hurting because he knew he was wrong
What if They don’t want anymore
How can I face what I have done
What will they say about me.
5.Surprize Surprise a royal welcome Ver 20
A father watching more and likely the whole time he was gone
A father waiting to see his face
His heart was full of joy
He was thinking what can I do to show him my Love is still here for him
6.He embraced him kiss his neck
Deep family love
He set a feast for his son
Called all his friends
All his hired help
My son is home
A homecoming for the whole family
That’s just like God we rome every where try sin, try the Devils ways but God is just where we left him.
He has his arms out stretch waiting for our return.
