Success God’s way
God wants us to be successful in all things. It may not start out that way but as we grow in our love and devotion to God, we will begin to prosper in all things.
Success without God is not success. It is failure. Success must be measured to God’ standard.
Success in world’s eyes is not necessarily success.
Mark 8:36 - For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
What good is money material possessions if you do not have quality of life?
True success only comes by serving God and can be defined as enjoying a whole life such as safety, health, happy relationships, etc. This is only possible when we serve God.
Success is not an event. It is a process. Failure is not an event. It is a process. Look after the present and the future will look after itself.
The following Bible characters should have been successful:
* Samson
* Saul
* Judas
The following Bible characters were successful because they submitted to a process of obedience, submission, growing and learning:
* Noah
* Moses
* Joshua
* Joseph
* David
* Paul
Initially, it seemed that each one of them were doomed to failure.
You do not need help to mess up your life. But you need help to build a successful life.
Joshua 1:8 - This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
1. Building relationships is a process
Joshua 24:15 - ….but as for me and my house, we will serve the lord.
This applies to marriages, children, ministries, businesses, etc.
2. Financial equity is a process
Ecclesiastes 11:1 - Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.
This involves:
* Sowing and reaping
* Tithing
* Generosity
The Bible tells us that a farmer waits patiently waits patiently for the harvest.
Wealth is a process. Bankruptcy is also a process
3. Living in victory is a process
Hosea 4:6 - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Submitting to an equipping and learning program takes time.
It takes time to:
* Learn to live in heaven of earth
* To ensure Satan’s defeat
* To breakthrough
* To live in health
* To live in victory
4. Fulfilling your purpose is a process
We all have spiritual destinies to fulfil, but it takes time to discover God’s will and to pursue purpose.
2 Timothy 4:5 - But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
5. Holiness is a process
James 1:12-15 - Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love him. Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
6. Success is powered by faith
Actions speak louder than words.
James 2:20 - But do you want to know, o foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
Here is a good formula:
Faith + action = success
William weld says “The best preparation for work is not thinking about work and not talking about work. It is work.”
7. Salvation is an event
Start somewhere. Begin the process and make sure you grow spiritually.
Romans 10:9 - That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
