Read Ephesians 4:1-16 &17-32

4:17- Not like gentiles: This new way is neither modification nor an improvement. Its a new lifestyle – in thought, character, values, relationships and motives. It is a change of ownership.

4:18-22. Put off: Break from the past, break from the sin and evil desires and designs. Put off the darkness, ignorance, greediness and blindness, lewdness and uncleanness. Romans 1:19-21 reflects the same

4:23.Be renewed: Christ calls to liv in Him. Rise above your level. Old mind is futile new mind is renewed. Renewed Romans 12:2 by not confronting, 1 Corinthians 2:9-16 God’ mind in us, Philippians 4:8-9 the thought of Christ. Leave the vain, dark and sinful life but have the learned, heard, taught. The truth has come from Christ himself. Jesus the revealer of the truth (John 14:6).Cherish in the supreme love of God.

4:25 Put away lying and speak the truth: falsehood and hypocrisy hurt relationships and destroy trust. Truth builds trust and confidence, strengthens the relationship and preserves the unity.

4:26-27. Be angry and do not sin: Anger part of human life yet do not sin, no transgression of the law, correct the situation. Satan can use anger and destroy unity.

4:28Do not steal but work: Honesty, unselfish work, generosity are needed.

4:29 Guard your tongue, be edifying in speech: Words are powerful. Be careful to use the tongue. Corrupt, rotten, vulgarity, swearing and gossip have no place in our speech. A Christian’s speech should edify and build.

4:30 grieve not the Holy Spirit: He is sensitive to the relationship. He is not a simple power but a person. Eph. 2:18 access to the Father, Ephesians 3:16 be strengthened in inner man, Ephesians 5:9 fruit of the Spirit, Ephesians 6:17 sword of the Spirit. Spirit gives life ( 2 Corinthians 3:6), Sonship (Romans 8:16, Understanding( 1 Corinthians 2:10-16), Sanctification (Romans15:16), indwelling power (Romans 8:11).

4:31-32 Signs of New Man: Accepting each other, loving each other, Forgiving each other.
