Summary: Each sport has experienced their Miracle Teams, like the 1980 USA Olympic Hockey Team. All facing what seemed to be impossible situations and insurmountable odds, but they overcame.
Strength To Surmount Impossible Situations
Genesis 17: 1-8
On Jan. 3, 1993, the Houston Oilers lost to the Buffalo Bills by a score of 41-38. Not so unusual except Houston had a 35-3 lead, or a 32 point lead halfway through the 3rd quarter of the game.

What can you do when you face impossible situations?
Call on the LORD who is “El Shaddai”: God of All Power!
God proves His power by making the impossible possible.
Three Ways El Shaddai can strengthen you to surmount impossible situations when you call on His name:
1) Enter into an Everlasting Covenant with You
Gen. 17: 4-7As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

God’s Covenant with Abraham
God’s Covenant with David
The New Covenant through Jesus Christ, the New Testament
The word Covenant comes from a word meaning “to cut”
El Shaddai is powerful enough to keep a covenant forever
2) Establish a New Identity for You
No longer shall your name be Abram (exalted father), but your name shall be called Abraham (father of many nations): for I have made you a father of many nations
Can God take someone like you and me and give us a new ID?
2 Cor. 5: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
3) He Will Enable the Impossible Through You
Gen. 18: 10-14And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, after I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
El Shaddai can do ALL through you.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
